Visit to the doctor

At 31, one would think that they do not need to worry about getting shots at a routine doctor's visit. However, as I am a new patient to this particular doctor we had a fairly in depth conversation about my history and it was uncovered that I had not had a tentnis (sp?) shot in about 15 years. So, I got to get one (hooray). Also, she convinced me to get a flu shot. Needless to say, my left arm is very sore and swollen from the tetnis and my right arm is a bit sore when someone touches it from the flu shot. Oh well, it's only temporary. I think I really will like this doctor.

A recap of 2008

2008 was not the best of years for me. Although, while there was sadness, there was happiness too. In the beginning of the year, I found myself distressed by turning 30. It made me look at how many things I did not have in my life. Then in the midst of my personal crisis, my mother learned she had cancer. She had a full hysterectomy and radiation for some time, and as of now, there are no traces of cancer. Hooray! Through that, I grew as a person, literally and non-literally. In summer, Austin and I purchased a new home. It is very small, but it suits our needs for now and it is in Edwardsville, which is nice for me. Professionally, Riverview Gardens is taking its toll on me. Only time will tell what will happen there. Austin is now a first grader at Trinity in Edwardsville. I think it is amazing the amount of progress that a student makes in a year. Gods blessings to everyone, and I hope for a very happy 2009!
