2014

So far, not lovin this year.  It has been super cold and snowy.  Austin has had a perpetual attitude and whines every day, almost all night.  I am STRESSED at work.  All these snow days has put me behind and I'm having to work at home a lot.  My evaluation has been cancelled twice due to the inclement weather and I just want to get it out of the way.  I am very nervous about it.  I have been blindsided in the past at a previous job and I just hope it doesn't happen again.  All this has loosened my willpower to not eat.  I have caught myself several times snacking on things without even realizing what I've eaten.  My poor habits are just so engrained in my brain.  I need to get back to it!

Maybe my next blog will not be a complaining one (but I don't know :)

Snow Days

No new pics today, but we did get about 13 inches on Sunday/Monday and then another 1-2 inches today.  This is the most snow I have seen in a while.  I've got to say that shoveling is moving up my list of least favorite chores.  Washing dishes still holds the number one spot after all these years.  Anyway, I have had snow days all week.  Austin's school was called off for tomorrow already as are many other schools in the area.  My schools have not called off yet.  While I really need to be at work to get some serious testing finished.  I'm already pretty screwed because I have lost four days.  I still kind of want another snow day.  I keep checking the internet like a little kid.  While my head knows what I need, my heart really wants to be off.  I am, however, really done with all this snow.  Once Christmas is over, I really have no desire for any more cold weather.

On a brighter and totally unrelated note, I have been doing pretty well on all of my resolutions so far.  Maybe this will be my year :)

The polar vortex

I saw on the news that there is a polar vortex that is taking over the eastern half of the U.S. today through Tuesday.  The local news reporters have said that there will be record breaking low temperatures on Monday and Tuesday.  I think here the lows may reach into twenty something below zero.  We are expected to get a total of 6-12 inches of snow between last night and today.  I read on MSN that the state of Minnesota has cancelled classes at every school for Monday due to the expected low temperatures.  I took a couple of pictures at 9:00 this morning, but the snow is even higher now.  We are going to stay in and hope that the power doesn't go out and that the heat continues to work.  With the wind expected, it is supposed to be blizzard like conditions.
